VO₂ Max Testing: The Gold Standard for Cardiovascular Fitness and Longevity

At Be Still Wellness & Aesthetics, we believe the foundation of longevity is metabolic efficiency. One of the most accurate ways to measure it is through VO₂ Max testing—the gold standard for assessing cardiovascular fitness and endurance.

Your VO₂ Max measures the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during exercise. It reflects how well your heart, lungs, and muscles work together to deliver and utilize oxygen—a direct indicator of metabolic health and longevity potential.

Why VO₂ Max Matters

VO₂ Max isn’t just for athletes—it’s a powerful marker of overall health.
Research shows that individuals with higher VO₂ Max scores have significantly lower risks of heart disease, metabolic disorders, and premature aging. In fact, VO₂ Max is considered one of the strongest predictors of lifespan and vitality.

By understanding your oxygen efficiency, we can pinpoint how your body performs under stress, how well you recover, and how to tailor your fitness or longevity plan to your specific physiology.

At Be Still Wellness & Aesthetics, every test we perform tells a story about how your body functions—and how to help it perform better, longer. Your VO₂ Max score is more than a number—it’s a reflection of your resilience, vitality, and longevity potential.

How VO₂ Max Testing Works

How VO₂ Max Testing Works

During your session, you’ll wear a comfortable mask connected to our advanced metabolic analyzer while exercising on a treadmill or bike. The test measures your oxygen intake, carbon dioxide output, and heart rate response in real time.

The data reveals your:

  • Aerobic threshold – the point where your body switches from fat to carbohydrate for fuel
  • VO₂ Max score – your maximum oxygen utilization
  • Metabolic efficiency – how efficiently your body produces energy
  • Training zones – customized heart rate ranges for fat burn, endurance, and performance
  • Recovery capacity – how quickly your system returns to baseline after exertion

The entire test takes about 15–20 minutes and provides immediate, accurate insights into your cardiovascular and metabolic function.
